Otto FLY

You can't rebrand a surname. Otto is a family name, and we only get to use it once. Every tank we mix, every hectare we treat and every report we hand over goes out under it. That is the whole business model.

ALIEN ERADICATION/CROP SPRAYING/SEEDING/SURVEYING/GEOMAPPING/TURBINE INSPECTION/DAM SEALING

The word we work by.

Not values on a wall. Five things a client can hold us to, written the way we'd say them across a bakkie bonnet.

  1. OneEvery pilot flies under the Otto name.

No handing your farm over to a subcontractor we haven't vetted and approved to fly under the Otto family name.

  2. TwoWe stop when the wind says stop.

Drift onto a neighbour's vines is somebody's whole season. If conditions turn we stand down and come back, even when standing down costs us the day.

  3. ThreeSupply your own materials, or let us source them.

Our pilots are POC certified and can fly your own mixtures, or we can source and supply for each job.

  4. FourWe'll tell you when we're the wrong people.

Some jobs belong to a ground crew, a contractor, or nobody at all. We'd rather lose the quote than take money for work a drone shouldn't be doing.

  5. FiveEvery report leaves here signed.

A name at the bottom of the page, by hand. If something is wrong with it, you know exactly whose phone to ring.

Every flight log, coverage map and inspection report that leaves this business carries a signature. It is the oldest accountability tool there is, and it still works.

Tell us what needs doing.

Send the farm name and a rough hectare count. Assessments cost nothing.

Langkloof · from the ground station

Case 01 · Alien eradication · Langkloof

150 hectares of river system, treated from the air.

Alien eradication through the river systems of the Langkloof. The terrain was too rugged to reach on foot or with traditional machinery, so every hectare was flown instead.

Garden Route · orchard application

Case 02 · Growth control & herbicide · Garden Route

50 hectares of avocado, sprayed while the ground was too wet to drive.

Growth control and herbicide applied across a large avocado farm. The grower wanted to trial aerial application, and the orchard floor was too wet to carry conventional farm equipment. Time and cost were measured against the ground alternative throughout.

Vlees Bay · canola under spray

Case 03 · Herbicide · Vlees Bay

250 hectares of canola, flown after the rain shut the lands.

Herbicide applied across 250 hectares of canola. Heavy rainfall had left the lands far too wet to carry a sprayer, and the grower wanted the cost of flying set against traditional application before committing.

Riversdale · sealer going down

Case 04 · Dam waterproofing · Riversdale

A whole dam sealed in a single day.

Waterproofing laid down with patented DAMIT dam-sealing technology, flown across the entire dam from first load to last in one day. On a job like this there is no better application method.

Further case studies drop in below as the season runs — same shape each time: the district, what the ground was doing, why flying beat the alternative, and the measured result.
